Divorce Recovery Workshop

When you promised "for better or for worse," you probably considered  illness, problems with children, financial difficulties.  Chances are never imagined you might face betrayal or abuse.  But it's not uncommon for marital trust to be shattered by secretive behavior, broken promises or worse, abusive behavior.  Did you know that over 50 percent of Christian marriages end in divorce today, in America, for such reasons?

People enter into their second marriage with the same behavior and attitudes they had in their first marriage. Changing spouses is no cure for bad relationships.  If you're starting over, please understand the necessity for getting counseling with your new mate to learn the skills it takes to have a satisfying marriage.

RRM's Divorce Recovery Workshop is held in the context of a supportive Christian community. This community provides acceptance, unconditional love, and confidentiality. We will be using the book "Starting Again", by Sandra Scott, as our guide for these six weeks. We will begin each week with a discussion of that week's chapter. Following a brief break, we will meet in small groups. Finally we will close our evening together with a short prayer. Leader: Liz Bunter. Reservations are needed and scholarships are available.

You will learn new ways of interacting with your spouse, so you won't fall back into the old ways  which led to your first divorce.

Did we forget something?
Matt 19:4-6
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Forgot Something
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
