Welcome
The DISCIPLE NEWSLETTER is a Christian publication promoting personal involvement in the Word of God. Since Pentecost, the Holy Spirit is with every believer as our teacher, guide, protector and comforter. Our goal is to encourage a more full understanding of His presence in our everyday lives as spoken of in 1 Peter 2:9 and Revelation 1:6
 THE COMMISSION

Many times, Jesus invites us to follow Him. Mark and Luke record similar versions to what is recorded in Matthew, "Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me."
The dictionary defines a disciple as anyone who embraces and assists in spreading the teachings of another. The emphasis is upon the word “anyone.” Anyone who desires — anyone.
DISCIPLE is intended to encourage you and inspire you with the hope that comes from living His Word. We want help to empower you and open the way before you. We want to assist you to embrace your calling to follow the Master — to willingly take up your spiritual commission.

  John 7:37-39
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying,
If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  He that believeth on me,
as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:
for the Holy Ghost was not yet given;
because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage:
and the door was shut.  Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.  But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.  Watch therefore,
for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

CHURCH
It is our deep and abiding conviction that the early church wasn't a church at all. Instead, it was a fellowship; a fellowship of believers in our Lord Jesus the Christ gathering in support of one another to praise Him , worship Him and learn of Him.
Acts 20:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
1 Corinthians 14:31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

The further we get from these principles, the further we are from the Truth.
Over the door of my high school, carved in stone were these words that have been the clarion call for my life,
And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:32

John 15:1
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman

                           Luke 6:40
The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
