Ever find a church that didn't use tithing as its major
fundraising tactic and endorse it as an
absolute Biblical truth?
Isn't it interesting how we so carefully pick and choose what we bring
forward from the Old Testament and what we leave behind?

Ever examine the Scriptures about tithing?
-
its origins
-
its purposes
-
the different kinds of tithes
-
what Jesus said about it
-
the number of times it is found in the New Testament
-
why contemporary churches only refer to one type of
tithing

Who says tithing doesn't pay?
In the garden of
life, we all have an unseen enemy, and when it
comes to the Stewardship of Life, that "unseen enemy" is the devil
who wants you to stop plantin g
seeds of faith in the garden of life. He wants you to grow the
"weeds" instead of the abundant crop!
My discovery came about because God
directed me to plant a rather large "seed" in the building fund
drive that was going on in our church. Well, I planted that check
and I was really quite scared to see all those zeros in that check
but, God had provided an abundant crop, so I just sent some of it
along to the building fund.
By the
way, that check to the building fund? It was returned to me,
within two years, pressed down and shaken together so as to
make room for more (Luke 6:38). One thing that I believe God
wants us to know, whatever measure we learn to plant with,
will be the measure that is used to produce our abundant
crop!

Tithing is a spiritual law given by God to humankind to
assist people in finding abundance, fulfillment and gratitude in their
everyday lives. The tithing law is to give 10 percent of one's increase back
to God, with God being represented on the physical level by the source of
one's spiritual teaching -- often a church, synagogue, mosque or spiritual
teacher. When a person tithes, the universe that works under the spiritual
law of tithing says, "If you have that much to give, that means you are open
to receive more."
As humankind fulfills its part of the covenant by giving 10 percent to God,
then God fulfills his part by continually blessing us. So, you may want to
check it out with a joyful attitude of saying, "Lord, I am open to receive
whatever it is that you bless me with." And then discover for yourself the
blessing of fulfilling God's covenant.
